VINYL CASE
Designing the case presented a unique and rewarding challenge, as I aimed to create something distinct from the conventional vinyl slip. From the outset, I carefully considered the selection of materials—wood, acrylic, and magnets—which would not only contribute to the functionality but also enhance the aesthetic appeal and tactile experience of the piece.
The craftsmanship involved in bringing this vinyl holder to life was central to the project. By combining traditional woodworking techniques with modern precision tools such as a router and laser cutter, I was able to shape each component with care. This fusion of methods allowed me to achieve clean lines and a refined finish, ensuring the holder could serve multiple purposes: as an elegant display piece showcasing a favorite album, or simply as a protective enclosure preserving it for years to come.
Throughout the creative process, there was a genuine connection to the craft. Every step required careful attention—from choosing and preparing the raw materials to assembling the final product with precision. This hands-on involvement made the journey of creating the vinyl case just as rewarding as the finished piece itself. The design strikes a balance between artistry, innovation, and practicality, expressing a sincere commitment to preserving music in a way that is both beautiful and lasting.
